India celebrates the birthday of our first prime minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on November 14, as Children’s Day. He was called Chacha Nehru by children because of his love for children.
He had established various educational institutions like the Indian Institutes of Technology, All India Institute of Medical Sciences and Indian Institutes of Management. He also made a five year plan which included
free primary education, free meals including milk to the school children in order to prevent children from malnutrition in India.
He once said – the children of today will make the India of tomorrow. The way we bring them up will determine the future of the country.
Is there a Chacha Nehru in your life? Do you know anyone who is fond of children and helps their cause? Do you anyone who helps children study or excel in games or simply has fun with kids?
Tell us about your Chacha Nehru, and either describe him or her through drawing, a short story or a poem and mail it to us on email@example.com by 20 November 2019.
