PV Sindhu becomes the first Indian to win Gold in BWF World Championships

Ace badminton player PV Sindhu defeated Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara in the BWF World Championships in Basel. Sindhu took less than 40 minutes to dismiss Nozomi, the former world champion. With this win the 24-year old player has become the first Indian to win the World Championship and script history. Not to forget, this was Sindhu’s third successive win. Sindhu’s gold is the second medal that India won this year as Sai Praneeth won a bronze in the men’s singles category. She has indeed made India proud once again and we salute her. She will next head for the Tokyo Olympics as the reigning World Champion.
